Setup

One Browser Source. That’s the whole install.

There is nothing to download and no game server to connect to. The game runs inside OBS’s built-in browser and reads your chat directly.

  1. Sign in and configure a game

Sign in with Twitch, pick a game, and set it up the way you want it. TikTok is next: once the relay ships you will be able to connect your @username here and read gifts and comments from a TikTok LIVE too. Saving gives you a URL that is unique to you.

  2. Copy your Browser Source URL

On the game’s setup page, press Copy OBS URL. It looks like /play/duck-derby?t=…. Keep it private — anyone with it can display your overlay.

  3. Add it in OBS

In OBS: Sources → + → Browser, then paste the URL. Set the size to match your canvas (see below), and tick Shutdown source when not visible so the game only runs while it is on screen.

  4. Tell your chat

Say the command out loud once and pin it in chat. Everything starts with one message — no sign-ups, no apps, nothing for a viewer to install.

What size?

The overlay lays itself out from the size you give the Browser Source, so this is the one setting worth getting right.

Normal stream (16:9)

1920 × 1080

Twitch, YouTube, and any landscape canvas. The HUD sits around the edges so the middle of the frame stays clear.

Vertical stream (9:16)

1080 × 1920

TikTok LIVE and other vertical canvases. The games detect the shape and lay themselves out for it — answers stack, the HUD moves inward. It is a different layout, not a squashed one.

Previewing on a desktop and want to see the vertical layout? Add &vertical=1 to the URL.

Putting it over your gameplay

Add &transparent=1 to the URL and the game’s own background disappears, leaving just the game to composite over whatever is behind it in your scene. Use it when the game is a layer on top of something else rather than a full scene of its own.

Try it without a stream

Every game has a Test Mode with a control bar for spawning players, sending commands, and firing fake gifts of each size — so you can see the whole loop, and rehearse it, before you go live. Open your URL with &test=1, or press Test on the setup page.

If something looks wrong

The overlay is cut off at the edges
The Browser Source size does not match your canvas. Set it to exactly 1920×1080 (or 1080×1920 for vertical) rather than resizing the source by dragging it.
Nothing happens when chat types
Check the connection badge in the corner of the overlay. It shows each platform separately, so you can see which one is not connected.
The game looks frozen after a scene switch
With Shutdown source when not visible on, OBS stops the page while it is hidden. Right-click the source and choose Refresh.
